Careers Guides

Wow Show careers guides aim to give students a real encounter and insight into what it means to become part of the army of Allied Health Professionals in the NHS who make a real difference to people’s lives. The WOW Show video guides take students behind the scenes to learn from near peers who are making their way in these valuable careers – and to hear directly from them about the pathways they took, what the job is really like, and what the opportunities are for the future. These particular two guides focus on careers as a:

• Therapeutic Radiographer
• Podiatrist

These guides can be used to support embedding careers within the curriculum and can be used alongside employers to support encounters and possible experiences of the workplace. There is a separate pack for key stages 3, 4 and 5.

Each package consists of the following:

• Guidance notes
• Explanatory notes for students
• A home learning support pack for students
• A full PowerPoint lesson
• An interactive journal for the students
• A certificate has also been prepared by the NHS to accompany each Career Guide.

WOW Show teacher resources: The WOW Show is designed to support Teachers and Careers Leaders, and create an interactive experience for students. Each programme links curriculum learning with the careers featured while acknowledging Gatsby Benchmarks 2,4,5 and 6. These free packages of classroom-ready teacher lesson resources are authored by a panel of teachers at our partners, VotesforSchools.
