Make sure all learners, parents and carers, teachers and staff have access to current, reliable information about career pathways and study options, as well as labour market information. Find a links to a range of resources in the Gatsby Benchmark Toolkits. In addition access the Understanding how to develop progressive and responsive careers provision (Careers Learning Journeys) resource to support your planning.
Access the free online Career Leader induction module, which includes a section for Careers Leaders on Labour Market Information and Pathways, via The Careers & Enterprise Academy. In addition there are courses to support your SENCOs and SEND teams, teachers and wider education workforce.
Actively involve parents and carers in the career learning process by providing accessible, clear and supportive guidance on how they can use labour market information to support their child’s career decisions. HTQ Resource Hub
The Department for Education (DfE), in collaboration with The Gatsby Foundation, have produced this resource to support education professionals explain Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) as an exciting post-18 option to learners, parents and employers.
Immerse Education
Immerse Education offers two week programmes in academic subject development with tutors from the University of Oxford and Cambridge. These take place as a residential programme in July and August, with accommodation provided at the universities, and a full programme of support academic and social activities.
There are also options to take part virtually, with an Online Academic Insights programme that runs for two weeks in December, April and throughout July and August. Although this is a fee-paying programme, we have bursaries available, and offer scholarships based on an essay competition open to all students aged 13-18.
In Apprenticeships – Free Online Course
Created in partnership with The Careers & Enterprise Company, #InApprenticeships is a free online course supporting young people currently in apprenticeships. Apprentices can complete this standalone course to build confidence and understanding during their career journey.
