Careers Education: A Guide for secondary school governors

World class careers education can’t exist without the input and insight from industry leaders. Volunteer Enterprise Advisers (EAs) are there to do just that, provide ‘real time’ insight to help demystify the world of work and improve your connectivity to employers.   

This resource looks at the ways in which Careers Leaders and EAs can work together to ensure careers education is reflective of the fast-changing labour market.    

“Effective Approaches to Careers Guidance for Apprentices” sets out to show how the Gatsby Benchmarks can be an excellent framework for colleges and training providers to create modern, 21st century careers education for apprentices.

These posters show potential pathways for young people at the age of 16.  Developed with the support of the Birmingham SEND Careers Hub the posters are relevant for those typically not likely to take GCSE (Career Group 1) and those typically likely (Career Group 2).
