This report explores the insights gathered from two further education colleges and one independent training provider who took part in an action research project on parental engagement, supported by the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) and the Association of Colleges (AoC). It highlights how and why a strategic focus on parental engagement improves the quality of careers advice and guidance, with positive impact on students, parents and the institutions themselves.
The projects focus on parents of young people with EHCPs, supporting parents at points of transition and gaining a consistency of approach across a multi-site national training provider. The associated resources, templates and key recommendations will support you to replicate their work.
