OnTrack+ Practice Guide

Resource

This resource provides practical guidance to help schools and specialist settings embed a clear, consistent process for identifying learners who may require responsive, targeted, or personalised support using OnTrack+ within Compass+. It explains how the feature can be used as an early‑insight diagnostic tool to support timely intervention planning, strengthen progression pathways, and highlight learners who may be at increased risk of becoming NEET.

Steps to help you get started with OnTrack+:

  1. Consider doing a Careers Impact internal leadership review to ensure that OnTrack+ is used within a whole school approach to careers education provision.
  2. Read the OnTrack+ Practice Guide first, as it provides the essential purpose, process and principles that make the feature meaningful before you use any technical guidance.
  3. Visit the Help Centre and read the OnTrack+ Feature Guidance information.
  4. Share the OnTrack+ Feature Guidance information with your Data Protection Officer and ensure they’ve confirmed that it fits within your education settings data-processing arrangements. Tick the box in Compass+ to confirm you have read and understood the guidance.
  5. Read the OnTrack+ Help Centre guidance articles on how to use the feature.
