Mission Employable
Currently in the UK less than 5% of people with learning disability are in paid employment, this group represent the biggest employment gap in the country, the most disadvantaged. We are working to change that.
We run a year-long internship for young adults (18-25) with learning disabilities. The program includes classroom teaching (Maths, English, Employability, etc.) and on-the-job training in various fields like catering, horticulture, and warehouse work.
Our dedicated job coaches help interns find individual work experiences that can lead to permanent employment. We also offer team-building events, mental health support, pet therapy, financial advice, and parent/carer support.
Over 90% of our interns secure paid employment, and 87% remain employed after three years. This program is truly transformational for our interns and their families.
