YCF enables education settings to strengthen parental engagement and use these insights to develop more informed, responsive and effective careers programmes that better support young people.
YCF covers various topics, including how parents and carers feel talking to their child about careers, how much they know about the different options available for their child after school or college, and how much they understand about the careers programme at their child's school, specialist setting or post 16 setting.
Parental engagement
Parents and carers play an important role in young people’s career decision making. Recognising this is essential for the development of effective careers provision and for enhancing awareness of careers education among parents and carers. With the updated Gatsby Benchmarks emphasising greater engagement with parents and carers, it is increasingly important for educators to assess the extent of their knowledge and understanding regarding careers delivery within their child's education setting.
