On this page you will find resources developed by the East Sussex Careers Hub to support people working with young people with SEND. Some of these are featured as content in the My Skills My Future programme.

The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) have created a suite of resources, enabling Maths teachers to link curriculum learning to careers. Included is an exciting set of videos, which showcase the maths elements in different careers. Each video is paired with a related activity, for students to get a real taste of what the career may entail.

Working with industry leaders, WorldSkills UK brings you high-quality on-demand video content which will excite your students.

A range of e-learning bitesize resources supporting educators and careers leaders to inspire students to choose technical education and apprenticeships as prestigious career pathways. With a focus on STEM, future skills and priority skill areas, whether it’s general TVET careers education and information you are looking to provide, or sector and industry specific, our module and video resources are easy to use and take between 25-45 minutes to complete.

Our free lesson plans, activities and videos will develop students’ employability skills to help them prepare for the world of work and increase students’ awareness of the variety of roles within the food and grocery industry.

The Global STEM Awards scheme rewards students for completing STEM activities and provides a framework to encourage higher levels of engagement in learning. Alongside completing their STEM activities children are asked to think globally and find out about careers linked to the activity.

The STEM Careers Toolkit for secondary schools and colleges is filled with creative ideas and practical suggestions on how to build STEM specific content into your careers strategy.

Plug in and play lessons and films to shine a light on the green energy sector, inclusive and accessible. We show children, people that look and sound like them, doing jobs they don’t know exist.

‘Globally Responsible Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics’ (GRC-STEM) – will help the growing number of job-seekers looking for employment with organisations that prioritise sustainable and ethical concerns.

This online resource asks each individual a series of questions concerning:

1. Their personal requirements from a career and considering their interests in science and technology;
2. The type of work they are interested in; and
3. Their ethical concerns, bearing in mind the global issues that face society.

Sci4Us have launched a video series, challenging professionals to explain their job at 3-levels: primary school, secondary school and GCSE.

This is a CPD tool designed for teachers. It explores a basic understanding of what engineering thinking is and how it links to design thinking. The resource is broken down into:

• engineering skills
• disruptive innovation
• engineering skills development (linking to key engineering developments in history)
• simple design exercises.
