Where Maths meets the world of work
The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) have created a suite of resources, enabling Maths teachers to link curriculum learning to careers. Included is an exciting set of videos, which showcase the maths elements in different careers. Each video is paired with a related activity, for students to get a real taste of what the career may entail.

IGD Educator Hub

Global STEM Awards
Motivate - Inspire - Reward
The Global STEM Awards scheme rewards students for completing STEM activities and provides a framework to encourage higher levels of engagement in learning. Alongside completing their STEM activities children are asked to think globally and find out about careers linked to the activity.

Globally Responsible Careers in STEM
‘Globally Responsible Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics’ (GRC-STEM) – will help the growing number of job-seekers looking for employment with organisations that prioritise sustainable and ethical concerns.
This online resource asks each individual a series of questions concerning:
- Their personal requirements from a career and considering their interests in science and technology;
- The type of work they are interested in; and
- Their ethical concerns, bearing in mind the global issues that face society.
Sci4Us Interviews
Sci4Us have launched a video series, challenging professionals to explain their job at 3-levels: primary school, secondary school and GCSE.
Engineering Skills Development - Teacher CPD
This is a CPD tool designed for teachers. It explores a basic understanding of what engineering thinking is and how it links to design thinking. The resource is broken down into:
- engineering skills
- disruptive innovation
- engineering skills development (linking to key engineering developments in history)
- simple design exercises.
