Triage in a careers setting is using information about young person’s career requirements and decisions to decide what support that young person requires and who the best person is to give that support.

EmployAbility Leisure is an initiative by Aspire (EmployAbility Leisure) to create more accessible and inclusive training and workplace environments for disabled people in the fitness and leisure sector. Funded by DCMS and led by industry, the Discover Creative Careers website is an online portal packed with information, resources and events to help young people explore roles in the creative industries. Starting with an interactive careers finder tool connecting to more than 520 job profiles and an opportunity directory of events, resources, skills competitions, virtual work experience and more.

This is a CPD tool designed for teachers. It explores a basic understanding of what engineering thinking is and how it links to design thinking. The resource is broken down into:

• engineering skills
• disruptive innovation
• engineering skills development (linking to key engineering developments in history)
• simple design exercises.

Developed by the National SEND Employment Forum these videos are aimed at introducing learners with special educational needs and disabilities (although they are not exclusive to this group) to an array of jobs and sectors.

InterviewBot is an automated interview practice resource for schools and colleges, using real life avatars as interviewers.  This resource prepares students for their first real life interviews but does so in a safe environment where they can grow their confidence.

This resource offers a free trial and option of costed subscription.

The Career Discovery Podcast is a free learning platform dedicated to helping young people broaden their career horizons.

Developed in partnership by Worcestershire Virtual School and the Inspiring Worcestershire Delivery Team.

This reference resource will support the network of Designated Teachers to understand the national and local careers landscape.

These resources have been developed by South Somerset Partnership as part of a transition project for SEND students.
