Leicestershire Cares were funded by the Thomas Pocklington Trust to adapt their education resources to ensure they are inclusive for use with young people with a visual impairment. They ran a pilot employability programme with visually impaired school students in close collaboration with the Visual Support Team at Leicester City Council. They also asked members of a steering group of volunteers from business to identify the main areas of concern when thinking of employing people with a visual impairment.
The pack answers these three main areas: Health and Safety issues, key considerations for managers and signposting to helpful resources and sources of information.
