The West of England Careers Hub recently commissioned staff from Three Ways School to work with seven SEND schools to support and train the careers leaders in developing a local network of employers for work experience. As part of this, a range of editable resources were produced.

A set of short videos, designed to showcase the relevance and practical applications of maths. Perfect to play in class or assembly.

Titles include: When will I ever need this? I can't do it! Why an Apprenticeship? Where can maths take you? and more!

The Why It Matters resources developed by the team at Loughborough University are designed to help students to understand where studying different subjects (both post 16 and post 18) might lead.

The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) have created a suite of resources, enabling Maths teachers to link curriculum learning to careers. Included is an exciting set of videos, which showcase the maths elements in different careers. Each video is paired with a related activity, for students to get a real taste of what the career may entail.

Empower young people to recognise their abilities and talk about their strengths – helping to improve their self-confidence and career planning skills.

The University of London Careers Service have developed a new free, impartial and accurate online careers course resource for school and college students (aged 16-18), to help them learn more and make good, well-informed career decisions about their post-18 careers options.

This resource is an employability and further education advice pack for young people and parents. The pack is produced in both English and Roma languages. The pack is focussed on opportunities in Sheffield and the surrounding areas but has elements which are universal across all areas. The pack has been designed to be accessible to people with SEN.
