Working with small children is a big deal.
Developed by the Department for Education as part of the ‘Do Something BIG, work with small children’ campaign, this resource includes information for young people on all areas of early years and childcare work, the different routes into the sector and real-life stories.
Explore Construction: Build an Exciting Future in Construction
Careers Collective were commissioned in 2022, by the Construction Industry Training Board to create a film and learning materials for schools (mainstream and specialist) that showcased their industry and the multiple pathways and careers that are open to students; in particular ways of achieving robust and valued qualifications without going to university.
Choosing your future career
A short session which offers students the chance to discuss job specifications and begin to think about their own skills and interests in relation to their future careers.
Talentino!
Talentino programmes have been helping to improve career outcomes for young people with a range of learning difficulties in a mixture of settings – special schools, mainstream schools, AP, PRU, SEMH, etc.
They also provide great opportunities for learning more, through their regular newsletters, annual SEND Careers Conference, and by publishing free resources.

Passport to Retail
Developed by Inspiring Worcestershire. Passport to Retail has been designed with the student’s progression at the forefront. This brilliant project will take students on a tour around the Retail industry, learning about key areas from customer services to stock rotation to build their knowledge and skill in preparation for the workplace.

Introducing the world of Recruitment. These lessons cover the skills employers look for, how businesses recruit, entrepreneurship and project planning skills.
My Week of Work: Monday
An introduction to My Week of Work and the sector options for students to explore: creative digital, engineering, construction, energy and renewables and health and social care. The final session of the day gives an insight into the world of work.
My Week of Work: Friday
These lessons explore what it means to be an effective leader, how to create an impactful CV and recognise and demonstrate employability skills. The week is completed with some reflection – what could be your next steps and how to prepare for discussions with a careers adviser.
