There is a evidence of improved employment outcomes for young people taking part in careers events, for wage premiums and reduced chance of being Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). Careers events with employers can have a positive impact on employability skills and educational engagement.

Studies suggest that careers talks are 'consistently effective' and that the careers carousel appears to be the most effective activity for supporting students. A careers carousel is a speed networking event involving a rotating group of students and volunteers from business.
