Help parents understand their child’s careers education journey, the key decision points and how and when you will be offering them support using these visual journey’s.

What’s the best way to measure effectiveness? 

Although not required for all individual activities, many evaluations measure before and after a programme of activity.

Parents can add value to the careers conversations we have in school, special school or college, by continuing these conversations at home. But in order to do this effectively, they need to be:

A flexible PowerPoint presentation to introduce careers and education options to parents from Year 7 onwards.

A flexible PowerPoint presentation and handout to help secure the support of the SLT (and governors) for parental engagement activities. 

A two-part session to train all staff in parental engagement in careers and to get staff to work with parents directly to find out what they need. 

This editable training presentation can be delivered during an INSET or other CPD session to upskill all staff.

An activity which builds on students’ first one-to-one meeting with the Careers Adviser, with a second meeting between the Careers Adviser, the student and their parents.
